London's atmospheric post-hardcore/metal act LIGHT BEARER have continued their conceptual discography with SILVER TONGUE, two years after their monumental debut album Lapsus. It was independently released as a free download on February 8th but will also be released on vinyl by HALO OF FLIES RECORDS. LIGHT BEARER manages to draw the listener in with beautiful arrangements (such as the enveloping orchestral intro to Beautiful Is This Burden) while seamlessly leading into heavy doses of melodic post-hardcore and the contemplative trademarks of the post-metal front. They know how to keep you drawn in with such a strong sense of shifting/mixing styles and unconventional song structures that adhere to their conceptual narrative; every detail that SILVER TONGUE presents deserves the undivided attention of the listener.

Hearing the songs while reading the narrative behind the lyrics, I felt overwhelmed by this tragic story in which humans and artificial intelligence couldn't coexist side by side. Their reciprocal annihilation was inevitable. Except one "sole survivor, in a ship filled with memories. She had become the proof of Earth, proof that life had existed there, a voice for all the species and beauty we once knew".
